Kaleigh's Song

In early 2007, my neice Kaleigh-Faith, who was just shy of her first birthday, succombed to SIDS. This is her requiem.

I came home after the funeral which was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life, and composed this song for her, while still wearing my suit and dress shoes. While composing it, I was wracked with tears, and when it was done two hours later, I lost it completely, and haven't been able to listen to it since.

The arrangement ends up sounding very much like Vince Clarke meets Ludwig Van Beethoven, and because the feel of the song is so classically based, I included it on the single for Luz En Oscuridad, which I also thought was very classical or baroque.

All proceeds from the sale of the single are going toward SIDS research and support.
