I'm Not Dead / 1.269 And Rising

I've always been searching for the perfect opening track for an album, and not just when I was working as PEM. I've found that have to grab a listener's attention right at the beginning, and no one has had that affect on me moreso than Underworld.

This long track was meant to work the same way that "Juanita/Kiteless/To Dream Of Love" and "Cups" did for me. It starts off being this happy ethereal sounding light trance groove, then becomes more intense, until we hit the dead stop that starts off the second part of the song, more of an Orbital type thing.

I'm Not Dead was titled as such following a conversation I had with a friend about being a young teenager, and being surprised that I kept waking up in the morning, that the world hadn't been blown up yet, and how I never really got over that feeling. Part two is a reaction to the prices of gas in 2005 when they shot up. I'm not sure why this struck me as so disturbing since I've never driven and will probably die without ever having had a license.
